Zora Massing

Zora Edwards Massing, 85, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital-Spartanburg. Born August 17, 1930, in Pound, VA, she was the daughter of the late Toye and Belle Hashman Edwards. Mrs. Massing enjoyed gardening and ceramics. She was a volunteer with the Republican Party having attended every National Convention since 1984. She was also a longtime volunteer with Spartanburg Mental Health and served as a Board member for the Cancer Association of Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties and the Spartanburg County Foster Care Review. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Terry Dale Massing; sons, Roger Combs, Larry Combs, and Jimmy Combs, all of Clintwood, VA; step-daughters, Kathy Connors of Warsaw, IN and Dianna Poppe of Rockford, OH; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 8 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters expected in September; and sister, Phyllis Lakey of Warsaw, IN. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sons, Michael Combs and Ricky Combs; step-daughter, Kelly Massing; sisters, Jeanette and Barbara; and brothers, Gilmer and Charles. Visitation will be 7:00-8:30 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Andy Case. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
