Zachary Moore

Zachary "Zac" John Moore, 17, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born July 26, 2000, in New Orleans, LA, the son of Ronald Eugene Moore, Jr "Chip" and Sherri Bowden Moore. Zac was currently enrolled as a junior at Boiling Springs High School and was concurrently studying auto mechanics at Swofford Career Center. From the young age of two, Zac was a natural athlete, quickly picking up his mother's affection of soccer and his father's love of snowboarding. As he grew older, he ventured into many other sports including gymnastics, tennis, skateboarding, and mixed martial arts. Zac was a true renaissance man with his ventures into art and pottery classes and acting with the UNCC Theatre Department at the age of ten, later continuing to movies and television shows. Spending time outdoors was important to Zac- he always jumped at the opportunity to go hunting or camping. He was also an avid fisherman, with his fishing pole and tackle box at his side. As he matured, he mastered the art of spear-fishing and even started working on his pilot's license at the young age of fifteen. Zac was a hard worker with an accelerated business acumen, not often seen in one his age. He had a bright, analytical mind to be able to assess, build, and fix or reconstruct anything from iPhones, go-karts, quads, and cars. He also enjoyed a personal collection of basketball shoes. Zac was a happy young man with an infectious smile who had a heart for helping others. In his final passing, per his wishes, he became a hero to many others as an organ donor, and his legacy will continue with them. In addition to his loving parents, Zac is survived by his brother, Aaron; maternal grandparents, Milton and Lynn Avret; maternal great-grandmother, June Abernathy; uncle Brian Bowden; paternal grandmother, Deborah Moore; aunt and uncle, Dacia and Frank Romero; and aunt and uncle, Dixie and Mark Broussard. Zac's friends and family will gather together from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, November 20, 2017 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A Mass to Celebrate his life will be 12:45 PM, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 314 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, with interment to follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Highway 9, Boiling Springs, 29316.
