Zachary Maddox

Zachary "Zack" Bayard Maddox, 44, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was born in Athens, Tennessee on August 15, 1971. He graduated from Spartanburg High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wofford College, a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and a Master of Education from Converse College. He was a teacher at Spartanburg High School for 19 years. Zack loved life and was a true Renaissance man-he loved teaching, playing the drums, yoga, books, music, movies, the Tour de France, Manchester United, and engaging with the world by challenging himself and others. Mr. Maddox is survived by his parents, Bobby and Sharon; sister, Lacey; extended family; former wife and friend, Samantha; and all his dear friends and colleagues. A private service will be held at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
