Yvonne (Bonnie) Van Scyoc Stack, R.N., 91, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at her home. Born November 19, 1917, in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Bertha Almeda Cochran Van Scyoc. A 1939 graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing, Cleveland, OH, she was a Registered Nurse in private practice for over 40 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Circle of Love at Trinity, the DAR, and a 20 year volunteer for Mobile Meals Service. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne (Bonnie) Ann Steger and her husband Sam of Atlanta, GA, and Deanie S. Wynn and her husband Barry of Spartanburg; three sons, David R. Stack, III and his partner Gregory Gaddis of Spartanburg, Peter L. Stack and his wife Judy of Boca Raton, FL, and James R. Stack and his partner Ron Theissen of Andover, VT; a brother, Russell Van Scyoc and his wife Dolores of Cleveland, OH; three grandchildren, Liz, Laura, and Lily; two great-grandchildren, Lela and Scarlett; and a special friend, Jean Miller. She was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Bucholz. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, in the Sanctuary at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. T. Lee Bryant. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Spanish Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Sam J. Steger, Barry D. Wynn, Jess Cooksey, Marvin Weathers, Frank Mahon, and Chuck Conner. Honorary Escort will be members of the Circle of Love at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at their respective homes.
