__"Heaven got a little brighter and the angels danced today"__ Wolfgang Clemens Osswald, 72, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to our Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his home. Born January 29, 1941, in Albstadt Lautlingen, Germany, he was the youngest son of the late Daniel and Maria Osswald of Germany. Mr. Osswald was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He was the owner of Matex Knitting Mills, Inc., and once retired enjoyed living on his farm raising cattle. He was also a member of Three Pines Golf Course "Pepsi Group" and a member of the Black Angus Association. Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Murphy Osswald; he had three daughters who thought they were the luckiest girls in the world to have him as their Dad, Antoinette (Ron) Bishop, Monique (Mike) LeCoq, and Marina (Scottie) Johns; and a niece who he raised as a daughter, Rosario (Roger) Lanford; he also had four grandsons, Danny (Timberly) Osswald, Christopher Johns, Anthony LeCoq, and Noah Johns; and two granddaughters, Anna LeCoq and Olivia Johns. He is also survived by a brother, Otmar (Paula) Osswald; and a sister, Benedikta (Arnulf) Buck, all of Germany; two sisters-in-law, Doley (Leon) Anderson of Delaware, and Ann (Mike) Lloyd of Washington State; two brothers-in-law, Martin (Breeda) Murphy and Kieran (Maggie) Murphy of Ireland; and several nieces and nephews that loved him very much. The Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, by the Rev. Timothy M. Gahan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 161 North Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
