Wofford Lawson, Jr.

Wofford Lawson, Jr., 69, of Spartanburg, died Friday, December 18, 2009. Born December 3, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Rupord Wofford Lawson, Sr. and Martha Jane Wall Lawson. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was plant manager for Alkahn (formerly Pentex) in Cowpens. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was the teacher of the Faith Sunday School Class for many years. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Quinn Lawson; a daughter, Tina Lawson Seay and her husband Jimmy of Spartanburg; and grandchildren, Colby and Georgia. He was predeceased by a sister, Glenda L. Quinton. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Eastside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Mike Royal and the Rev. Gerald Burnett. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, S.C. 29307. The family is at the home.
