Wilma Ledford

Wilma Jeannette Owens Ledford, 83, of 201 South Blackstock Road, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at her home. Born September 29, 1926 in Laurens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Eugene and Florence Raines Owens and the wife of the late Herman "Jack" Ledford. A graduate of Thornwell High School, she attended Montreat College, retired from Mettler Toledo Scale, and was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School in the Fellowship Class, sang in the choir and was vice president of U.M.W. Survivors include three sons, Steve Ledford of Bethlehem, GA, Keith Ledford (Dianne) of Wellford, and Scott Ledford (Linda) of Campobello; two daughters, Cathy Stewart of Spartanburg and Carol Johnston of Greenville; a sister, Eva Lee Swanstrom (Adrianne) of Foley, AL; grandchildren, April O'Shields Hucks (Jamey) of Conway, Paul Settle of Spartanburg, Barton Ledford of Charlotte, NC, Natalie Rhinehart and Elizabeth Ledford of Campobello, Harley Jack Ledford of Bethlehem, GA; and great-grandsons, Aidan and Ashton Hucks of Conway and Hunter Scott Parris of Campobello. She was predeceased by a brother, Herman Eugene Owens; and three sisters, Elizabeth Craig, Sarah Mattie Byers and Margaret Rose McBee. Visitation will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, August 20, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 21, 2010 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. James B. Carter. Memorials may be made to Arcadia United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 143, Arcadia, SC 29320; or to Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Avenue, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at their respective homes.
