Wilma Gentry Conn, 96, of Pueblo, CO, formerly of Greenville and Spartanburg, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at her home. Born November 6, 1913, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Arthur and Pearl Clement Gentry and the wife of the late Miller Wade Conn. Wilma's life was deeply rooted in the South. While a student at Limestone College, she met her future husband Dr. Miller Conn, a professor of chemistry. With love and wit she supported him through his international career in petroleum marketing and development. Invaluable in their life together were her prodigious memory and her legendary gift for cooking. She and Miller retired to Greenville, SC in 1970. After Miller's passing in 1990, Wilma pursued a vigorous life with family, friends, church and gardening, remaining always fiercely wedded to her husband's memory. Her remarkably long life, her world travels, her beauty and her kindness are facets of the life of Wilma Conn which will be remembered always. Survivors include her son, Dr. John M. Conn and wife Joanie of Pueblo, CO; her daughter, Judy Linn and husband Chris of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren, Dr. David Linn of Knoxville, TN, Rob Linn of Houston, TX, June Conn and Sarah Anderson, both of Atlanta, GA, Cody Johnston, Devin Conn and Grace Conn all of Pueblo, CO, and Paul Conn of Sun Valley, ID; three great-grandchildren, Megan Linn and Taylor Linn, both of Knoxville, TN, and John Dylan Conn of Atlanta, GA. She was predeceased by a grandchild, John Miller Conn, Jr., and a brother, Charles Gentry. Visitation will be 12:00-1:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Nugent. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
