William Worthy

William Harry Worthy, 88, of Pacolet, SC, died Thursday, August 25, 2022 at his home. Born July 5, 1934 in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Victor “Son” and Alice Louise Guyton Worthy and was the husband of the late Mary Lee McIntyre Worthy for 56 years.

Harry was retired from Leigh Fibers, after serving 26 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church-Pacolet.

Survivors include his son, Dale Worthy (Roxie) of Pacolet, SC; grandsons, Jason Worthy (Samantha) of Spartanburg, SC and Will Worthy of Gramling, SC; great grandchildren, Abel Worthy, Rowan Worthy, Chloe McCullough, and John McCullough. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bobby Worthy, Charles Worthy, Johnny Worthy and Wendell Worthy.

Visitation will be 7:00 – 9:00 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Floyd’s Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. David Moore and The Rev. Joel Gardner. Burial will follow in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church-Pacolet, 310 W. Main Street, Pacolet, SC 29372. Honorary escort will be members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Pacolet First Baptist Church and members of the Pacolet Fire Department.

The family is at the home of his son, Dale Worthy, 150 Noble Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.
