William Loran Waldrep, 94, of 13 Spring Street, Drayton, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at his home. Born July 28, 1918, in Enoree, SC, he was the son of the late James Guy and Minnie Campbell Waldrep. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with Company A, 20th Engineer Combat Battalion in World War II, and retired from Drayton Mills. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Ross "Dot" Waldrep; daughters, Judy Waldrep Douglas of Spartanburg and Libby Waldrep of Drayton; son, Jim Waldrep (Debbie) of Pinehurst, NC; granddaughter, Jennifer Parsons (Logan) of Carthage, NC; grandsons, Lt. James Waldrep (Stephanie) of Springfield, VA and Jeremey Waldrep of Worcester, MA; sisters, Reanza Waldrep Easler of Spartanburg and Joleen Waldrep Bonner of Drayton; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, GuyNell Waldrep Bingham, Helen Vivian Waldrep, and Mildred Waldrep Holland. The family appreciates the loving care and support from caregivers Betsy Hawkins and Andrea Coates and Journey Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Scott D. Gilmer and the Rev. C. Allen Senn. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
