William Truesdale

William "Bill" Truesdale (Papa), 86, of Inman, SC, died Friday, August 21, 2015, at Smith Phayer Hospice House of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Born February 27, 1929, in Heath Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Roy Davis and Birdie Bowers Truesdale. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Truesdale was a Navy Veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and was retired from Southern Bell. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. Mr. Truesdale is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sybil Burnett Truesdale; a daughter, Linda Page (Dr. Carroll Page) of Boiling Springs, NC; a son, Kenny Truesdale (Teresa) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Adam Page (Ashley), Andrew Page (Laura), Aaron Page, Luke Truesdale, and Daniel Poulos (Holly); great grandchildren, Thomas Fulgham, Brianna Turner, Karlie Page, Austin Page, and Harrison Poulos. He was also predeceased by a son, Timothy Truesdale; a daughter, Melanie Pressley; granddaughter, Shannon Fulgham; sisters, Dorothy T. Keith, Betty T. Garrett, and Celeste T. Hoke. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, in the chapel, conducted by Dr. Carroll H. Page. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
