William Pedersen Stubbs, Sr., 80, of Inman, SC, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Summit Hills. Born October 2, 1941, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late William Berkley Stubbs and Roselyn Annette Pedersen McCallum.
Mr. Stubbs retired from Lockwood, Greene & Co. after serving 35 years. He also worked on special projects with Milliken & Co. and Fluor Daniel. Bill was a Class of 1959 Fairforest High School graduate. He was one of the youngest Eagle Scouts in South Carolina.
A very charismatic personality, Bill loved to laugh and never met a stranger. His passions were drawing, music, building, design, and math.
Survivors include his sons, William "Pete" Pedersen Stubbs, Jr. (Vicki) of Newburgh, IN, Judson “Jud" Hines Stubbs (Monica) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Marvin “Mark” Travis Stubbs (Lisa) of Spartanburg, SC, grandsons, Stephen Zachary Mittag and Asher Layne Stubbs, both of Spartanburg, SC, and his great grandsons, Mason Zachary Mittag and Cameron Page Mittag, both of Spartanburg, SC.
Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his former wife, Mary Jean Stubbs, who he remained in love with, a son, Stephen “Bo” Bomar Stubbs, and his brother Kenneth S. Stubbs.
A memorial service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Judson Stubbs. Visitation will follow the service.
