William Dale Springs, 77, of Roebuck, SC, died Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 13, 1936, in Fines Creek, NC, he was the son of the late William Marvin and Nora Lancaster Springs. A graduate of Jonesville High School, Mr. Springs was retired from International Paper (formerly Harley Bag Co.) after many years of loyal service. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church of Walnut Grove where he served as a deacon, elder, Clerk of Session, and treasurer. A gardener, golfer, small aircraft pilot, and woodworker, William loved his wife, his Lord, and his family very much. Surviving is his beloved wife of 46 years, Mildred Strange Springs; sisters, Patricia Lawson of Buffalo, SC, Linda Scott (Dan) of Simpsonville, SC, and Judy Garner of Union, SC; brother, Wayne Springs (Connie) of Union, SC; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Visitation will be 10:00-11:30 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Parlor, 1399 Walnut Grove Rd., Roebuck, SC 29376. Funeral services will follow at 11:45 AM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Thomas and the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
