William Solesbee

June 25, 1946 — November 4, 2011

William (Bill) Solesbee, 65, of 662 Banks Terrace Trail, beloved husband of Nancy Yarbrough Solesbee, passed away November 4, 2011, at home, after a long illness. Born June 25, 1946, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late William Paul and Margaret Jones Solesbee of Spartanburg. He retired from trucking after 31 years with Teamsters Union Local 28 and was a 32nd Degree Mason at Lodge #357 Roebuck, a Shriner, a life member and past commander of VFW 9539 Spartanburg, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Brian K. Solesbee and wife Kala of Spartanburg, William C. Solesbee of Boiling Springs, and Jonnie and Benny Freeman, both of Spartanburg; two daughters, Robin Thompson and husband Chad of Woodruff, and Belinda Prince of Spartanburg; one brother, Richard Solesbee and wife Betty of Wellford; two sisters, Sheila Farmer and husband Steve, and Cheryl Watson and husband Joel, all of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren whom he loved and cherished very much; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert F. and Donald W. Solesbee. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Andy Watson; his niece, Jennifer McGraw, will give a eulogy. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers and Military Rites will be provided by VFW Post 9539 Spartanburg. The family expresses appreciation for all the loving care, kindness, and support they provided during Mr. Solesbee's long illness and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 155 Deacon Tiller Court, Duncan, SC 29334.
