William Simmons, Jr.

William Carey Simmons, Jr., 90, of Norwalk, CA and formerly of the New Prospect Community of Spartanburg County passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023. Born in New Prospect, SC on January 1, 1933, he was a son of the late William Carey and Thelma Foster Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was a United States Army veteran and maintenance mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Simmons; daughter, Carri A. S. Simmons (Frank); grandchildren, Constance “CJ” Casey (Troy), William “Billy” Taitano, and Cera Rias (Garrett); great-grandchildren, Kayden Casey, Dakota Casey, and Cruz Casey; and sister, Dot Garrett.

Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:30 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Matthew Bishop. Burial will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, 9321 Highway 9, Inman, SC 29349.
