William Ryan West

William Ryan West, 48, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Monday, July 10, 2023. Born April 15, 1975, in Spartanburg, SC, Ryan was the son of Boyd and Martha Ponder West.

Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina – Spartanburg and was employed with Apexical, Inc. for 18 years.

A plant enthusiast, he completed an internship with Musgrove Mill State Park in Enoree, SC as he loved the outdoors. He never met a stranger and was an enthusiastic movie buff.

A loyal and loving father and Ryan was of the Lutheran faith.

Along with his parents, Boyd and Martha West of Boiling Springs, SC, he was survived by the mother of his children, Amanda Rusk West; his children, Emerie Kathryn West, William Bennett West, and Holland Rose West, all of the home; his sister, Lara Richards (Bill) of Salem, VA; he was “Uncle Buddy” to his niece, Shelby Richards. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Doris West; maternal grandparents, O.L. and Ruby Ponder; and his aunt, Linda Ponder.

Visitation will be 4:30 – 6:30 pm Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
