William Russell Sr.

William R. Russell, Sr., 85, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Inman Health Care. Born January 28, 1933 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Samuel McKee and Annie Belle Williams Russell. As a U. S. Army veteran, William graduated from Clemson College. He retired from Hoechst Celanese and was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Patsy Russell; son, William R. Russell, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Sharon Elaine Russell of Punta Gorda, FL; and four grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert McKee Russell. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Thomas Moore.
