William O'Dell

William "Bill" Miles O'Dell, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, September 9, 2017, at White Oak at North Grove. Born August 2, 1924, in Whitmire, SC, he was the son of the late William Holloway and Cora Belle Miles O'Dell. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. O'Dell retired from real estate sales and development. Bill received several awards for outstanding service and contributions to the real estate profession. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Vivian Grey Farmer O'Dell of the home; daughter, Winifred "Winnie" O'Dell of Spartanburg, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Winifred O'Dell Stephens. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. David E. Nichols. A committal service will follow in the Chapel. Immediately following the service the family invites you to a reception at the Piedmont Club. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
