William Mullen Jr.

William "Bill" Linwood Mullen, Jr., 62, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at his home. Born in Spartanburg on May 8, 1953, he was the son of the late William L. and Ann Crawford Mullen. A graduate of Presbyterian College, he received his Law degree from Mercer University and practiced law in Spartanburg for 25 years. He was actively involved in local political campaigns. He was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and served as an usher. Bill kept a notebook of diagrams of major league baseball stadiums, and planned to visit each of them. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Surviving are his older brother, Robert Hale Mullen; four sisters, Wilton Workman, Lucia Balmer, Anne Kudner, and Monty Mullen. He will also be missed by brothers-in-law, Robert Workman and Julian Hankinson. He took great joy in his four-legged friend, Harley. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 13, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church, 393 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by The Rev. Dr. Thomas Evans and The Rev. Joanne Hull. The family will receive friends in the church Parlor following the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in Christ Church Historic Churchyard, Greenville, SC.
