William Morrison

William "Ron" Morrison, 71, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, July 14, 2014, at his home. Born September 2, 1942, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Jabos Richard and Eva Poore Morrison. Mr. Morrison was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church and retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. He loved to work in his gardens and play golf. He was a past Boy Scout Master and his passion was camping and hiking the trails of Pisgah National Forest. Surviving is his wife, Linda K. Morrison; children and their spouses, Barry Morrison and Jim Connors of Orlando, FL, Pat and Tammy Morrison of Spartanburg, SC, Jennifer and Jonathan Jones of Charlottesville, VA, and Sonya and Tim Bolen of Dugspur, VA; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth and Genny Morrison of Woodruff, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery, 115 Church St., Fairforest, SC 29336, by the Rev. Sal Barone. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gibbs Cancer Center SRHS Foundation, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
