William Moody

William Harry Moody, 70, of Piedmont, formerly of Spartanburg, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011 at his home after a valiant fight against cancer. Born September 8, 1940 in Tennille, GA, he was the son of the late P. L. and Mae Etheridge Moody. William was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Clemson University. He was a retired senior engineer with Celanese after 28 years of faithful service. William cherished life, his family, his many friends, loved the Clemson Tigers, and his music. He is survived by his wife, Gloria T. Moody, two daughters, Meredith Moody Heffner and Marla Moody Kuhne and her husband Trey Kuhne; three grandchildren, T. J., Amanda, and Alexis Heffner; a sister, Muriel Goodlett. Receiving of friends will be 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg, SC. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM. William was a 16-year heart transplant survivor.
