William Lopez

William Michael Lopez, son of William and Michelle Lopez, and grandson of Michael and Violet Positino. His mother writes: "Our son William was battling cancer called Ewing Sarcoma (a bone cancer) for three years. The cancer defeated William on Monday, December 2, 2013, but the cancer not once, ever changed him. He always remained the sweet, caring child we knew. He never complained and cared about everyone else around him more than himself. He was funny and so very smart. He had the biggest heart I've ever known anyone to have. The Lord decided it was time to take his child out of his pain and suffering and brought him home to heaven, where I know William is now our angel. He is our hero, our soldier, and so many people have learned so much from him. I was blessed to be his mother for 17 years. William, your love, strength, and guidance will always live in our hearts. Until we are together again our sweet boy. We love you." Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2013, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Robert L. Mahaffey, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by the Rev. Timothy M. Gahan. Memorials may be made to Sarcoma Warriors of the Upstate, PO Box 24190, Greenville, SC 29616. The family is at their respective homes.
