William Floyd Knight, 97, of Spartanburg, SC, passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Eden Terrace. Born April 22, 1916, in Lancaster, SC, he was the son of the late W. S. and Hattie Crenshaw Knight and the husband of Louise M. Knight for 65 years until her death in 2000. Mr. Knight was a World War II veteran serving in the U. S. Navy for 39 months. He was a dedicated pharmacist and medical representative after the war. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and his love for the Lord was evidenced by his service as usher, Sunday School teacher, and a deacon for many years. Surviving is a son, Dr. Kenneth Knight and his wife, Sylvia, of Greenville, SC; granddaughters, Connie Permar (Frank) of Taylors, SC, and Lori Williams of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gwen Rushing; and his brother, Lewis Knight. The family would like to thank all of the Eden Terrace staff for the great care given and for the kind and loving care provided by Regency Hospice. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk Neely and the Rev. Robert C. Morgan.
