William Holt

William Homer Holt, 95, of Inman, SC, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Ashlan Village-Lyman, SC. Born January 30, 1922, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Clarence Callahan Holt and Arsula Johnson Holt. A U. S. Army Air Corps Master Sergeant veteran of World War II, Mr. Holt was a South Carolina House of Representatives member 1959-1960. He was also a member of the Ruritan organization, retired from Reeves Brothers, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jean McCurry Holt; daughter, Brenda Ohelson (Larry) of Gaffney, SC; sons, Phillip Wayne Holt (Gail) of Spartanburg, SC and Robert Clarence Holt (Dianne) of Campobello, SC; grandchildren, Will, Steven, Melissa, Benjamin, Lauren, Jason, and Clay; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, William McCurry Holt; five brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Odell Mosley, the Rev. Donna Stroud, and the Rev. Celeste Petty. Entombment, with military rites, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will receive friends at the cryptside. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, 2095 Chesnee Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
