William Turner

William Herbert "Turk" Turner, 74, went to be with his wife in heaven on her birthday on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Born June 27, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Henry William Turner and the husband of the late Teresa Johnson Turner. He was a painter, a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Cowpens, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include two sons, William Matthew Turner and wife Aleshia, and Mark Anthony Turner and wife Stephanie, all of Clifton; a brother, Buster Turner; and six grandchildren, Amethyst, Brianna, Lita, Christian, Jayden, and Dillon. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Asia Michelle "Sunshine" Turner. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church of Cowpens conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley.
