William Guy

William "Bill" Robert Guy, 72, of Moore, SC, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home. Born February 8, 1943, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Hillard and Lillian Gosnell Guy. Mr. Guy was a member of Second Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. He was owner of The Hiring Authority, Inc. and active in all sports. He loved to golf and was known as "Ace" for his pitching and hitting as an American Legion pitcher. He also loved coaching and was a college referee, District 6 referee and banquet organizer, and former YMCA youth director. Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Anita Bagwell Guy; children, Elizabeth Susan Guy and William Clifford Guy, both of Spartanburg, SC; stepsons, Michael Coffin of Columbia, SC, Mark Coffin (Jan) of La Grange, GA, and Matthew Blaine Coffin (Lisa) of Chapin, SC; and grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Paige, Brooke, Sarah, and Samuel. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2015, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Steven Rhodes.
