William Gunter

William "Sonny" Aaron Gunter, 71, of Cowpens, SC formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his home. Born October 15, 1949 in Spartanburg, SC he was the son of the late Aaron Woodrow and Velma Waldrop Gunter. Mr. Gunter was a superintendent with Sanders Brothers Inc., and a member of Westside Baptist Church of Cowpens. His first priority was always his family. He was a hunter, gun collector, loved to fish, and enjoyed all outdoor activities. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Alinda McCraw Gunter; son, Howard W. Lowe (Kristi) of Gaffney, SC; daughters, Diane Lowe Gray (James) of Spartanburg, SC, Amie Benton Martin (Nathan) and Melynda Jewel Gunter all of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Hannon Lowe, Cameron Lowe, Dean Benton, Tricia Benton, Natalie Martin, Nathan Martin, Sarah Gray, Huntley Gray and Alli Martin; great-grandchildren, Milly Brock, Willy Benton and Naomi Paige; brother, Patrick Gunter of Spruce Pines, NC; and nephew, Johnny Pinkard (Naomi) of Cowpens, SC. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Elysia Gray. Visitation will be held 2:00-2:30 PM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Westside Baptist Church, a Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:30 PM at the church, conducted by Pastor Travis Blackwell. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Alinda Gunter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church, 4487 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The J. F.
