William Fowler

William Elmer Fowler, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, January 7, 2016, at White Oak Manor. Born April 8, 1932, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Elmer Leroy and Annie Linder Fowler. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Fowler served in the 108th Division of the U. S. Army Reserves in Charlotte, NC. He attended St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and retired from Draper Corporation. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Jackie Hylemon Fowler; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Fowler of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Elizabeth Baty (Jim) of Spartanburg, SC; and very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Jimmie Lou Millard of Boiling Springs, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Clark and Cornelia Suttles; and brother, Elmer Lee Roy Fowler Jr. Graveside visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, January 11, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM conducted by the Rev. Wayne Major. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, PO Box 64, Clifton, SC 29324; or Hospice Care of SC, 9101 Asheville Hwy, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
