William Wilson

William "Bill" Folger Wilson, 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, August 12, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 13, 1939, in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Charles Carroll Wilson and Lucy Kelly Wilson. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era, Mr. Wilson was a 1958 graduate of Belton High School. He attended Erskine College and the U. S. Air Force Institute of Technology Language School at Syracuse University in New York. He was also a former manager at Harper's 5 & 10 in Honea Path and York, SC and managed Southco, Inc. at Myrtle Beach and Spartanburg, SC. He retired from John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels, Inc. as a customer service representative after over 30 years of service. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, "Buster" was an ardent fan of the Atlanta Braves, Wofford Terriers, Clemson Tigers, and the Carolina Panthers. Surviving are his wife, Nicki Mitchell Wilson of the home; sons, William Carroll Wilson (Karen) of Chattanooga, TN and Michael Brian Wilson (Casey) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Meghan Wilson and Cason Wilson of Chattanooga, TN, Miranda Wilson and Ellory Wilson of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Charles Carroll Wilson (Georgette) of Charlotte, NC and John Steven Wilson (Judi) of Anderson, SC; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of his life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, August 15, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, by the Rev. Sonny Bright. Visitation will follow the service at the cryptside.
