William Donald

William Carey Donald, 86, of Cowpens, SC, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born October 10, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Baxter Columbus Ezell Donald and Minnie Cook Donald. He was the beloved husband, for 60 years, to the late Zellon Wright Donald. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Donald was retired from Kohler. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and of the Baptist faith. Surviving is his daughter, Karen Donald of Cowpens, SC; daughter by heart, Christine Phillips of Cowpens, SC; brother, John Donald (Jean) of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Betty Poole (Herman), and Doris Robbins, all of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Gaynell Donald of Cowpens, SC; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Walter Donald; and brother-in-law, Billy Robbins. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Springhill Memorial Gardens, 1011 S. Alabama Ave., Chesnee, SC 29323, by the Rev. Ken Hales and the Rev. Howard Smith.
