William “Bill” Creech, Jr., 74, of Boiling Springs, SC, went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, SC. Born May 19, 1947 in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late William Ralph Creech Sr.
Mr. Creech was a 1965 graduate from Woodrow Wilson High School, then went to Old Dominion University where he earned his Bachelor of Psychology. A US Army veteran, Mr. Creech received multiple medals for his service after serving two tours in the Vietnam War, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and an Army Commendation Medal. He was retired from BMW after 20 years of service. Bill was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg, where he taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir, and took multiple mission trips including Romania. He volunteered with the Good News Club and Hope Remains Ranch. Bill was passionate about his God, his family, and his country.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Mathis Creech of the home; his children, Syble Creech Matson (Jay) of Easley, SC, Aaron Creech of Easley, SC, Megan Creech Force (Justin) of Boiling Springs, SC, and David Creech (Rachel) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Madeleine Creech of Easley, SC, Wyatt Force, Wilder Force, and Wrenley Force, all of Boiling Springs, SC; mother, Jannie Lorraine West Creech of Mechanicsville, VA; and siblings, Brenda Blue (Rob) of Mechanicsville, VA, and Ron Creech (Debbie) of Zuni, VA,
Visitation will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Baptist North Spartanburg, 8740 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29316. A Funeral Service with Military Rites will be at 12:00 Noon, at the church, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Michael Hamlet.
