William Calvin Clippard, 84, of 124 Swain Avenue, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at his home. Born February 10, 1925, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Millard and Elsie Lowe Clippard and was raised by his grandmother, the late Mattie Lowe. He was retired from Whitney Mill after 40 years of service. He was a member of Fingerville Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Bragg and her husband Jerry, and Jeannine Lawter and her companion David, all of Chesnee; a son, Jeff Clippard and his wife Rena of Cowpens; a grandson, Kyle Lawter, and a granddaughter, Jamie Gaffney and her husband Donnie, all of Chesnee; and his extended family, Chris Martin, Josh Clippard, and Koby Clippard, all of Cowpens. He was predeceased by a sister, Rosalie Weathers. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bill Lark and Larry Gaffney. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
