William Brown, Jr.

William D. Brown, Jr., 67, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Born December 20, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late William D. Brown, Sr. and Eunice Martin Zimmerman Brown. A graduate of Wofford College, he was the owner of Personnel Solutions, Inc. He was a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, a Presbyterian Elder, and involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Louise Brown; a daughter, Karen Painter (Tim) of Pauline; a son, Gary E. Sloan (Kay) of Tyrone, GA; a brother, Michael Zimmerman (Yuyan) of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren; three nephews; and a niece. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ivy Brown. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit and the Rev. Charles Horne.
