It is with heavy hearts that we share that “Billy,” William Dickey Weekes, Jr., 58, passed away on November 30, 2024, in Greenville, SC. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, he was born on June 30, 1966, a son of Louise Mullins Parris of Spartanburg, SC and the late William Dickey Weekes, Sr.
Billy spent most of his life in Spartanburg and Greenville and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1984. He graduated from Greenville Technical College with a degree in Industrial Electronics Technology in 1997 and a second degree in Computer Technology Network Systems in 2010.
Billy served in the United States Army Reserves from 1988 -1991 including a deployment to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm.
Billy was a curious and friendly man who enjoyed spending time outdoors. He particularly loved hiking local trails. He was devoted to his beloved daughter, AnnaKate and they spent many happy hours biking and bowling together.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, William Dickey Weekes, Sr. and his stepfather, William Keith Parris. He is survived by his mother, Louise Mullins Parris of Spartanburg, SC; his daughter, AnnaKate Louise Weekes of Greenville, SC; his sister, Lynn Weekes Karegeannes (Jim) of Asheville, NC; his stepbrother, James Kevin Parris of Spartanburg; nieces, Grace Caroline Karegeannes, Katherine Adelle (Katie) Parris, Sarah Elizabeth Parris; nephew, John Lenhardt (Jack) Karegeannes, as well as many other loving family members.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Central United Methodist Church, 233 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306 conducted by the Rev. Cameron Y. Treece. A visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church Building Project Fund, 233 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
