William Berrier

William Fredrick "Fred" Berrier, 70, of Pacolet, SC, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at his home. Born August 15, 1943, in High Point, NC, he was the son of Mary Berrier Caviness of High Point, NC, and the late J. B. Caviness. A retired U. S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Berrier was later employed as a security guard with Spartanburg Methodist College. In his early years, he played Bozo the Clown on a children's show. He loved his family very much, was a very talented commercial artist and musician, and also a Mason and Shriner. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Martha Jane Erwin Berrier; children, Angela Berrier Pack (Kenneth) of Greer, SC, Tracy Berrier-Butler (John) of Pacolet, SC, and James Fredrick Berrier of Yanceyville, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Pack, Joshua Pack, John Butler, and Amanda Champion; brothers, Larry, Mark, Alan, and Steve Caviness; and his eight year old canine, Prissy. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Pack. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372, by Mr. Thomas Friedheim. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
