William Bennett Jr.

William John Bennett Jr., 70, of Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Home. Born August 28, 1946, in Bethpage, NY, he was the son of the late William John Bennett and Dorothy Elizabeth Smith Bennett. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Bennett was a heating and air conditioning contractor. He was a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years throughout the southeast and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Florida. Surviving are his children, Linda Bennett of Holly Springs, NC, Barbara Locke (Michael) of La Plata, MD, William John Bennett III (Shannon) of Cowpens, SC, Rita Belue (Jeff) of John's Island, SC, Patrick Bennett (Megan) of Spartanburg, SC, and Robert Bennett (Christina) of Goose Creek, SC; eight grandchildren, Ashlee, Lizzy, Steven, Kimberly, Ethan, Audrey, Landon, and Caden; sisters, Lillian Santos of Queens, NY, Mary Muggeo of Westmoreland, NY, and Dorothy Ervin of Rome, NY; brothers, Michael Bennett of Windsor Locks, CT, John Bennett of Port Charlotte, FL and Edward Bennett of Canajoharie, NY; and wife, Barbara Ann Hoelzer Bennett. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by Paige Dowdle.
