William B. "Bill" Adair, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 12, 1930, in Pauline, SC, he was the son of the late George B. and Ruth Dobbins Adair. Bill retired from Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line, now Williams, after 37 years of faithful service. He served his country faithfully and honorably in the USAF, the Air Force Reserves, and the Air National Guard. He was a faithful member of the Ben Avon Baptist Church. Bill, with his wife, crisscrossed the country with Campers-On-Mission, building churches and providing disaster relief. He was also a private pilot. Surviving is his cherished wife of 60 years, Joan Boyd Adair; children, Cindy Adair Inman (Glenn) of Spartanburg, SC, William N. Adair (Suzy) of Boiling Springs, SC, and John B. Adair (Lynda) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jesse Inman (Amanda) of Columbia, SC, William Clark Inman of Spartanburg, SC, Alysann Barnes, HM U. S. Navy (Paul) of Camp Lejeune, NC, Michael Adair and Daniel Adair, both of Boiling Springs, SC; great-grandchildren, Daisly Joan Inman of Columbia, SC, and Zoey Barnes of Camp Lejeune, NC; sisters, Lela Adair and Nelleen Thackston, both of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Shirley B. Tate of Spartanburg, SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Marion "Mike" Adair and Maynard "Mike" Adair. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by Rev. William N. Adair, Chaplain Cindy Adair Inman, and Dr. John B. Adair.
