Willene Cantrell

Willene Martin Cantrell, 91, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at RoseCrest Retirement Community. Born May 31, 1925, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joe H. and Nannie S. Martin and widow of Guy Cantrell. Mrs. Cantrell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She retired from Spartanburg General Hospital and the Women's Clinic in Spartanburg and was an honorary member of the Medical Assistants Organization. She was a very special lady to so many and touched so many lives. She loved her soap operas, gardening and traveling with her many friends! Survivors include her brothers, Paul Martin and Robert Martin, both of Gaffney, SC. She was Godmother to Carole Ann Hightower, Caleb Hightower, Nicholas Hightower, and Kaity Foster; two special friends, Fay Coley and Lynn Cantrell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Danny, and Gene Martin. Visitation will be 12:00-12:45 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 1:00 PM in the Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
