Willard “Butch” Eugene Simmons, 75, of Spartanburg, SC died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 14, 1945 in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Marvel Dean Simmons and Mary Sue Huskey Wright.
Butch was a retired truck driver for Metromont Concrete for 18 years. He was a member of Southport Church. He was a beloved fisherman, but most importantly, he loved God, his family, and his cats Pookie, Prince and Missy.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Romero (Enrique) of Spartanburg, SC, his sons, Michael Simmons (Nancy) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Timothy Simmons (Jennifer) of Moore, SC, his wife, Joyce Simmons of Spartanburg, SC, grandchildren, Zamion, Austin, Heather, Andrew, Chandler, Justin, Kennedy, Destiny, Katelynn, and Apple, great grandchildren, Hayden, Camille, Delilah, and his siblings, Linda Luse (Jerry) of Five Points, Alabama and Pete Wright of Pauline, SC. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Isabelle Blanchard, Shirley Pruitt, Buddy Wright and Jack Wright.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Sunday, August 22, 2021 in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church Street Ext., Roebuck, SC 29376, conducted by The Rev. James Blackwood, with Mr. Michael Simmons as Eulogist.
The family will be at the home of Tim and Jennifer Simmons, 415 Victory Lane, Moore, SC 29369.
