Wilbur Lee Ellisor, of Spartanburg, SC, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born June 24, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, and he was 80 years old. 

Wilbur was preceded in death by his father, Earlie Stanley Ellisor, his mother, Lillian Leslie Ellisor, his brother, William Ellisor, and his sister, Luella Cantrell. 

He is survived by his sister, Jeanette Hamrick; his devoted wife of 58 years, Myra McGarity Ellisor; his sons, Rod (Luisa), Tyler (Lisa), and Lonnie (Jennifer); his daughter, Courtney McCormick (Kevin); and his nine cherished grandchildren, Mitchell Ellisor, Henry Ellisor, Charles Ellisor, Hailey Ellisor, Hope Ellisor, Faith Ellisor, Audree McCormick, Andrew McCormick, and Blake McCormick.

A dedicated public servant, Wilbur retired as a Sergeant after 25 years with the Spartanburg City Fire Department, where he was known for his commitment, and camaraderie. His legacy of service to the community and devotion to his family will be remembered by all who knew him. 

A Graveside service to honor Wilbur's life will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, September 6, in Westwood Memorial Gardens and Rev. Joey Burnette will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg at https://www.mobile-meals.org/donor-info or to Agape Hospice at https://www.hpcfoundation.org/online
