Wesley Solesby

Wesley Joseph Solesby, 62, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at his home. Born December 15, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Solesby and Geneva Cash. He was formerly employed at Alcoa Fujikura. He was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church and attended Cannons Camp Ground United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Kirby Solesby; a son, Stephen G. Solesby of Spartanburg; a daughter, Carmen Holley and her husband Alan of Batesville-Leesville, SC; three grandchildren, Sebastian Dylan Solesby of Spartanburg, Ivy Grace Holley and Shane Holley of Batesville-Leesville; a brother, Kenneth Solesby of Spartanburg; a very special niece, Michelle Cooksey and her husband Jeff; a half-brother, Joseph Solesby; and two half-sisters, Deborah and Vicki. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, in the backyard that he loved so much. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. James W. Ivey and the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Hospice, 106 Metro Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
