Weldon “Bo” Ivey passed on to be with the Lord at age 96 in Cowpens, SC. He was proceeded to heaven by his loving wife, Flo Ivey, of 47 years. Born January 3, 1927, he was the son of Vant and Nannie Ivey.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Carol Ivey of York, SC; a daughter, Cathy Ivey of Matthews, NC; a daughter, and son-in-law, Eston and Susan Ivey Keller of Huntersville, NC, grandchild, Drew Ivey of Blythewood, SC; grandchild, Gina Ivey of York, SC; grandchild, Kyle Ivey of York, SC; and a grandchild, Hannah Keller of Huntersville, NC.
He is survived by a sister, Pearl Byars of Atlanta, GA, a brother-in-law, Hoyt Burnett of Chesnee, SC, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J C and Carrie Edwards of Tucker, GA; a sister-in-law, Brenda Souders of North Charleston, SC; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Edwards of Atlanta, GA.
He was a long time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church serving the Lord in many capacities. He served in the SC Grand Lodge of Free Masons for over 70 years. Honorary pallbearers are from the Mt. Olive Jack Mullinax/Joe Cash Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be 12:45pm to 1:45pm on Saturday October 21, 2023 at Floyd’s Green Lawn chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 2:00 pm in the chapel conducted by the Reverend Dennis Spencer.
The service will be conducted with full Masonic rights. A private family burial will be conducted at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family asks that any memorials be addressed to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 250 Mt. Olive Road, Cowpens SC 29330 or to a charitable organization of your choice.
