Wayne West

Cecil Wayne West, 74, of Spartanburg, SC, and a resident of Whitten Center in Clinton, SC, died Monday, December 15, 2014. Born July 11, 1940, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Sam Jones and Tiny Valentine Fowler West. He was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving are his sisters, Ruth West of Spartanburg, Shirley Orr of Piedmont, and Ann McGarity of Spartanburg; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Leroy West, Rufus West, and Robert West; and sisters, Mary Thomason, Ruby Trail, and Louise Riddle. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Chris B. Snelgrove. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1335 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
