Wayne Splawn

Wayne W. "Humpy" Splawn, 70, of Inman, died Saturday, January 30, 2010. Born January 8, 1940, in Buck Creek, SC, he was the son of the late Paul Hugh and Nettie Maude Clayton Splawn and the husband of Margaret Lakeman Splawn. He was retired from Hoechst Celanese Corp. and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an IBEW member and of the Baptist faith. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Jerome W. "Jay" Splawn of Inman; two sisters, Patricia Horton and Joan Guinn, both of Inman; three brothers, Ricky Splawn of Inman, Aubry Splawn of Edneyville, NC, and Dennis Splawn of Gastonia, NC; and his loving companion, Diesel. He was predeceased by three brothers, Dale Splawn, Donald Splawn, and Jerome Splawn. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Lancaster. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
