Wayne Easler

Wayne O. Easler, 73, of 4256 Old Furnace Road, died Sunday, December 13, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 13, 1936, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Oliver Alva and Catherine Wolfe Easler. A 1956 graduate of Cowpens High School, he was a truck driver for 50 years and retired from Eagle Transport with 15 years of service. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church, the Million Mile Safety Club of Eagle Transport, a lifetime member of Cherokee Springs Masonic Lodge #135, a member of Eastern Star Ora 153, and an Army National Guard member. Survivors include his wife of 51 + years, Bettye Suddeth Easler; two sons, Robert W. Easler and wife Jennifer of Cherokee Springs, and Philip S. Easler and wife Kaprice of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Karen E. Brock of Cherokee Springs; a sister, Carol E. Pierce of Cowpens; three brothers, Dwight M. Easler, Sr. and wife Ruth of Spartanburg, Morris N. Easler and wife Jean of Sylvania, GA, and Larry R. Easler and wife Jessie of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters-in-law, Margaret P. Easler of Cherokee Springs, and Carolyn Easler of Cowpens; his mother-in-law, Lila P. Suddeth of Cherokee Springs; and six grandchildren, Rebecca, Kaitlyn, Tommy, Richard, Brennon, and Daniel. He was predeceased by two brothers, James W. Easler and Johnny G. Easler; and a brother-in-law, Bill Pierce. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by Pastor Ray Stuart. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O. Drawer 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home.
