Wayne Caron

Wayne Thomas Caron, 75, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 2, 1947 in Lewiston, Maine, he was the son of the late Roger and Elaine Caron.

Wayne worked on lobster boats when he was a teenager. A 1965 graduate of Brunswick High School and attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, he then joined the US Navy in 1967 to 1978. After serving in the Navy, he worked in convenient stores in Florida, then becoming a supervisor for the 7-11 Convenience store chain. He then went to work at Albertson’s Grocery Store in Jax, Florida in September 1978, then for Family Mart Grocery in Tampa, Florida until 19886. In December 1986, he moved to Spartanburg, SC and then worked for Ingles Markets for 30 years, retiring in 2016.

Wayne loved baseball. He was Thomas’ Little League assistant coach and Jonathan’s Little League head coach.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Caron of Campobello, SC, sons, Thomas Caron of Greer, SC, and Jonathan Caron of Spartanburg, SC, siblings, Pam Warthen of Jax, FL, Cole Warthem (Michelle) of St. John’s, FL, Chase Warthen (Heather) of Orange Park, FL, Cody Warthen (Dyana) of Portland, ME, many cousins, two aunts, and four uncles.
