Wanda Austin

Wanda Punch Austin, 78, of Ransdell Drive, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Dr. Thomas E. Austin and daughter of the late Carroll and Bonnie Punch of Hickory, NC. Mrs. Austin was a retired elementary school teacher in Spartanburg School District Seven and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jon O. Austin and wife Sue Ann of Cary NC, a daughter, Katrina D. Austin of Spartanburg; a brother, Norman Punch and wife Vernice, and a sister-in-law, Edna Punch, all of Hickory, NC, and three grandchildren, Rebekah Austin, Stephanie Austin, and Jon Hildebrandt. Mrs. Austin was predeceased by a brother, Bill Punch of Hickory, NC. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Spartanburg, conducted by Pastor Boyd F. Cook. The family will receive friends after the service.
