Walter Scott Tisdale, 76, of Cowpens, went home to be with his precious Lord and Savior and his beloved wife Betty, on Monday, October 18, 2010, at his home. Born November 17, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Leona Lawing Tisdale and the husband of the late Betty Jean Sumner Tisdale. He retired from Spartanburg Steele after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Love Springs Baptist Church of Gaffney. He was a member of and supported the Shrine. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" T. Crump and her husband Ernie of Gaffney; one brother, Claude Tisdale and his wife Ruby of Columbia; a grandson, Scotty Crump and his wife Jennie of Cowpens; a granddaughter Poppy C. Phillips of Gaffney; three great-grandsons, Austin Phillips of Gaffney, Ethan and Evan Crump both of Cowpens, a great-granddaughter Megan Phillips of Gaffney; a special sister-in-law Dixie Edge and her husband Barry of Cowpens; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 21, 2010, Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley and the Rev John Cox. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Interim Hospice, 155 Deacon Tiller Court, Duncan, SC 29334. The family is at the home.
