Walter Reaves

Walter A. "Walt" Reaves, 90, of 400 Locust Grove Road, and formerly of Whitney and Camp Croft communities, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 6, 1919 in Inman, SC, he was a son of the late William W. and Roxie Horne Reaves and husband of the late Hannah Rhodes Reaves. He was retired from Y. C. Ballenger Electrical Contractors with over 40 years of service and was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Spartanburg VFW Post 9349, and former member of Whitney Masonic Lodge #264. He was a graduate of Union High School and a US Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lynn Reaves Inman and husband Benjamin Carroll Inman; two grandsons, Benjamin Inman Jr. and Kristopher Inman; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Inman and Hannah Inman, all of Spartanburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and a brother. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Larry W. Monday. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the home of his daughter at 10 Damson Street, Spartanburg.
