Pocahontas, AR, resident Walter Kilgore, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home of Spartanburg, SC. He was born April 25, 1937 in Mayland, TN to the late Jessie Clay and Linnie Mae Kilgore. Mr. Kilgore was employed at National Lock Company in Rockford, IL for many years. He then opened a restaurant called Chicken Shack in Spartanburg, SC. He enjoyed watching sports and going to casinos. His family were the most important things in his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Bonnie, of the home; daughter, Barbara Rice (Brad) of Pocahontas, AR; sons, Walter Allen Kilgore (Stacey) of Leesport, PA and J. C. Kilgore (Rachel) of Spartanburg, SC; step children, Debbie Kinard (Bob) of Duncan, SC and Gaylen Tillman (Donna) of Boiling Springs, SC; his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Casperson (Bruce) of Rockford, IL; and brothers, Jessie Kilgore (Peggy) of El Paso, TX, and Dewey Kilgore of Temple, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Kilgore were his sisters, Mable Gray, Marie Payne, Rachel Brooks and Ellie DuPlessis; and brothers, Clay Lee, Herb, Joe, and Jim Kilgore. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
